Hi folks,

This just started the other day, if I park the landy (95 110 300tdi) up hill, even the slightest of gradients, when I come back the next day (or sometimes in about 20 minutes...) it won't start and needs a fair amount of cranking to bring the fuel up (I'm assuming) to make her start. Now, if I park facing down the hill or on absolute flat, it starts first kick.

Any ideas? Cant see any fuel leaks, but I guess its just heading back to the tanks and sucking air in....

Cheers

i would say this is caused by a very small pin hole in your fuel line, or the diaphram in the lift pump if it as 1 or a loose pipe joint. im not sure on the fuel system on these but i worked on goods vehicles and 1 of them had the same problem, biggest cause of pin holes ect is the hard frost we have just had and that makes the plastic fuel lines very brittle

Hello again,

these sound like damn fine ideas. Will run the temp fuel line first see if that works, then failing that, try the diaphram in the lift pump. Thanks for the advice!
cheers
Ken
