Well was driving to work this morning down the lane from my house, moved over to the edge of the road so car coming the other way could get past and i heard an ridicusly loud bang then my landy decide to swerve across the lane and tip on to two wheels thankfully not all the way over and come back down on to all four, got out to investigate and was greeted with this wonderful sight

All I can say is its truly f**ked, :(

I had similar damage after hitting a skip lorry. Tore my front drivers side radius arm off.

Chap came down, grinded it off and welded a new bracket back on.

Though your chassis looks a little rough.

Depends on the rest of the chassis but it should be able to be plated easily enough, just dont let whoever welds it use **** thin steel

Well I've not had a good look at it yet but does seem a bit rotten to try save it, changing the chassis isn't really an option as haven't got time, or the space to do something involved so will be breaking it for parts I think as I need to a new set of wheels ASAP

Going by that one pic alone, I think it'd be fair to say the rest of the chassis won't be too clever and will simply be easier/safer to replace the whole thing.

Bump has one for sale and I believe Psulli16 will have one to sell now too. Both relatively local.

Give it a good luck over first with a hammer, don't be shy it's best to be sure, if there's only a little welding to do it'll be worth it asking as there's no other problems with it

There was definatly a poo in the seat afterwards but I think old couple coming up the lane towards me would of also had stained seats :p

Well that's the thing it's my daily car and family car which is why I just thinking of cutting my loses and getting rid as thankfully I didn't have the family with me at the time

Rust works quick and generally goes inside to out, MOT only knocks the chassis and visually inspects...

and real landie owners dont look....
ever at there chassis jongould?

I know mine bettererer then I know my mrs now...... :D

But being a pesimist,
"if"
If its only localised to that dire looking patch of chassis,
yep, if it were mine, one side of the box section would be lost by my cutting discs,
a good look inside the section,
then if savable, refab a new C channel section back in,
then remake the radious arm location,
then weld that back on after taking propper measurements to make sure landie dont drive like crab after all thet..

No idea tbh I brought it back in August and spent a good hour going over it all and I didn't notice anything wrong with it but then again I don't expect the chassis to fall apart like that if it had been properly mot'd

I know mine very well, too well after doing the cross member  Its surprising to see a Disco1 chassis rot, generally the body is long gone before the chassis...

There isn't anything to suggest the MOT wasn't proper, as I said if its solid at the time of the MOT then its a pass, chassis tends to rust inside out and with the extra stress the rear arm has on the chassis it would snap quite easily even if it felt solid when stationary...
