That was a relief....

The wife told me the Freebie had lost all power, it was apparently struggling to get up a couple of hills on her way home from uni

I asked the usual questions; any odd noises, how's the fuel consumption, are there any warning lights, etc? All I got were blank looks and the reply "why would I worry about any of that"...

Having spent a good portion of my timme on here looking for possible clues I then get a phone call at work today, she'd found out what the problem was..... Wait for it..









































The car mat had slid forwards, doubled up and was stopping the accelerator from moving more than an inch or two

I'm both relieved and ****ed off in equal measure, at least it didn't cost owt to fix

Hey, she's got brains! I've seen cars in main dealers for that, some more than once! At least she figured it out

Aye, and before me

I'd forgotten she'd put the new mats in is my only defence, they are the heavy duty rubber ones.

At least the mat didn't stop the brake pedal from moving

Once had a bottle of water roll out from under the driver’s seat and get tangled up in the pedals. Couldn't brake or drop the clutch and had a junction coming up fast... banned my daughter from drinking in the car after that. Not nearly as much fun as the time when the bolt holding the brake lever onto my Suzi Bandit snapped but still quite exciting...
