Driving back across A14 yesterday, on way home from Crufts, and spotted the outline of a RRC dragging a trailer behind it (tallish trailer couldn't see back of car). Noted the number plate LF51 *** and thought to myself he must have borrowed the trailer from a mate, pulled alongside and noticed plate on back of car was also LF51***, properly fitted, not stuck on with elastic bands or insulating tape...
I thought about slowing down and getting the mobile/camera to hand but thought better of it.

A 51 plate RRC can't be right...can it?

Can't (shouldn't) be an import because they get an age-related plate (related to the year of manufacture, not UK reg). Probably just misidentified it, or wrong trailer rear plate ie trailer had the 51 plate and the RR not.

but he said this:

Both plates matched and I made a real conscious effort to make sure I was right..

3 options I guess

1. It really was an old stock unregistered vehicle - but I doubt it
2. They were taking a chance on dodgy plates
3. Someone had stuck a RRC body on some other chassis

wish I'd taken better note of the last 3 letters now and then I could have checked it out on DVLA website

2. They were taking a chance on dodgy plates did they look pikey

:confused:

private plate maybe??
but saying that you cant fit one that makes a vehicle look newer than it is can you?:confused:
