teflon swivels

I have been running a BP Teflon ball on an a defender axle for two years, one year on the 110 and then the axle has gone onto my 90.

Not had any problems but I don't abuse the landy so never know:)

Just out of curiosity can you repolish the old swivels? I don't think mines are too bad and after reading this thread I'm not keen on buying new lol. Would much rather prolong the life of mine if possible

The worst thing is not enough people know about it.

On the day of the second swivel breakage I was at Parkwood, and another guy had sheared one on his 90 also and some lads came over to my mud workshop to ask if I had another spare, sadly not the case.

Just been looking through the other thread, seems to be all later ones failing with the twin roller bearings. I'll let you know if mine **** themselves after my rebuild. If you want conclusive proof then if you could get hold of a failed Teflon and an original chrome ball then there is a selection of material testing equipment at uni. Mind you'll have to be keen finding them as I'm in my final year now.
