Was servicing a Disco TDi300 97 R with part electronic control Bosch fuel pump, new oil and filters etc and trying to find a god aweful oil leak....

....went to go to Billericky to see the better half and woooooh the Disco is smoking like you wouldn't believe...white/blue smoke on boost and low power...bloody hell what else will go wrong this week:mad:

.....I checked the turbo for slack bearings and it didn't seem too bad, whipped off the air inlet to the turbo charge intercooler and it's not drippin' in oil....strange but encouraging, I didn't fancy removing the turbo for a rebuild.....?

...turns out the turbo boost pressure pipe to the fuel injection pump was broken....cut it back and refitted and everything's OK again....phew...

the boost pressure must also advance the pump timing as well as up the fuel delivery rate....so before you condem your turbo it would best to replace your boost presure take-off pipe:eek:

....the oil leak was a broken dipstick holder, common and cheap fix @ £7
