Wife brought the disco home and said that there was a vibration. sitting idleing . Seams like it,s running on 4 cylinders. Injector loom new and ok ran Navco and no faults and injector ballance acceptable. all injectors pass test .Took to indi and put on test book still no problem. No fuel in sump and no excess smoke no loss of water Help I,ve run out of ideas!!!!!!!

Have checked all mounts OK. Flywheel and clutch all replaced at xmas. I would of thought if I had a dirty injector it would be a poor starter and smoke? even if it was only one injector.

harmonic ballencer? check for any play in the crank pully

Air in the fuel system? any fuel leak around fuel pressure reg? also have a look around the fuel lines at the tank. they are prone to rubbing on the chassis and letting air in.

whats it like when driving? (taking it from your post its only on idle)

Don,t think it,s air in the fuel as the tank pump sounds quiet and it appears to only drop one cylinder. It drives ok appart from sounding off you can feel the vibration as you drive and it stops dead on overrun , knock it into neutral and the vibration comes straight back

UPDATE!!! I've had all the injectors out sent away and tested and DAM they are all ok refitted all new seals and washers and sh.t ! still have a cylinder down . Can you compression test these things or am I doomed to sending it to the dealer£££££££££ ?

Have you checked the red plug and socket on the engine ECU to see if there is any oil there?

I replaced the injector loom 6mth ago and have just tryed another new one. ecu plugs clean as a whistle . Ive been told that you can only compression test through the glow plug holes and then only 4 cylinders . True or False ????????????????????????????????

Well it is a fact that there are only 4 glowplugs on the 5 cylinder TD5.

Just got the disco back after throwing the towel in and taking it to the indy dealer.

After meny hours of testing they found the balance weight on the transfer box had snapped 2 studs and fallen and jamed . Removed the thing and No vibration YAAA

Just like to thank local indy who had never seen this befor . Lesson to all out there . Another new fault for the td5.
