td5 still wont go

Hi again!

The ol disco ran out of fuel the other day!
i tried all the bleeding procedures suggested and gant get it to fire.

from what i can see (or hear should i say)the fuel pump isnt running in the tank.

i took the fuel line of the low pressure to the filter but theres nothing! nada! ziltch!

any ideas why the pumpisnt running? Oh fuse and fuel cut off switch are ok!

Do you have a feed and good earth supply to the pump ?

You say the cut off switch is ok, have you checked continuity through it ?

Continuity is good at the switch, i havent checked the pump end yet! my next job i suppose.

is there any way to bypass the ecu just to test the pump? ie; jumping a wire from the battery to the pump relay?

I think he's being serious, if you can't hear it, its probably dead. Looks like your getting a new one!

it could have been worded a little better!

you get used to it!

my 02 did same it took me a long time to get it going about 10 min's i had to keep pressing the fuel cut off switch untill it started up. its the black switch under the bonet it has a rubber top. its in front of the passenger side firewall is that the one have been pressing.
