TD5 Oil Light - Now won't work?

Aye and not sure about others but turners want 2K +VAT for a remanufactured short engine!

until some one looks state of bearings etc is unknown but i usually get a good secondhand unit and the bearings if they are good its a good indicator for the rest

I don't know really, but what's in the pic doesnt look like a Td5 to me... when you said "short" i thought you meant what they usually call "short engine", like this Turner Engineering - Replacement and Remanufacturer of Land Rover Engines including 300TDI, 200TDI, TD5, V8, turbo diesel & petrol etc, available from stock

You'd hope for that money they'd at least show the correct engine in the listing.

short engine is just block crank and pistons, stripped has no ancillaries

Does anyone have an oil pump assembly or know of s cheap one as I could then fit and test?

If the sumps off surely worth checking mains? Or can't you do that on these? Never stripped one?

Yeah the mains can be checked and done from below, so can the big ends. Pretty sure the thrusts can also be done.

Aye, as I already said, the engine needs pulling and fully inspecting - I know it's a pain but worth doing because the cost of new parts can then be weighed against the cost of a replacement engine (which as James said I'd also want to check the bearings on).
