I have recently purchased a 2002 double cab however it is a non starter. It was ment to have been a runner however once delivered no luck. It has now been in a garage a week and we are starting to run out of ideas. We have found oil in the wiring and cleaned this out and found there to be a bad signal crank signal so replaced the sensor (made no difference) we have changed the ecu and still no luck. We have found no 12v feed to the injectors so the next thing is to send it to a auto electricians to do there magic as assuming there is a break in the feed to the ecu??? Just wondering if anyone had any ideas to help narrow the surch. We can get it to crank perfectly but not fire.

U will not be able to measure the voltage to the injectors with multimeter cos it's pulsatory... get a gauge and check the fuel pressure at the regulator(get hold of a fitting to screw it instead of the fuel temp. sensor), or connect it somehow on the return pipe. Make sure yo have 4 bar there before u take the ECM in pieces. There is an earth rail near the battery close to the jack's compartment... check the middle connection cos this is the earth for the ECM

U need a tester(hawkeye or nanocom) to run circuit tests for the injectors, if u put your ear on the rocker cover(or a stethoscope) u can hear the injectors clicking if they get feed from the ECM on circuit test

A Gamekeeper near me had a 90 with the same problems, tried everything that could be thought of, in the end an auto spark said that there was a break in a wire somewhere in the wiring loom but no way of finding out where. He got a second hand engine loom off ebay and fitted it, starts first time everytime now.

Just wanted to update this. It was the fuel sender unit. Not sure how the garage missed it for so long but drives sweet now.
