Hi all,

New on here having just purchased an '03 TD5 Metropolis, and a mighty fine 'loaded' old gal she is too!

Questions if I may?

1. Rear nearside light lens has a corner broken off. Where is the best place to get a replacement? Dealer? Or can I get one cheaper elsewhere?

2. When using the 'kickdown' on the auto box she 'lunged' several times until I removed my foot from the accelerator. Did it only a couple of times and has been fine since. Seemed to be before the engine was fully warm. Ideas as to cause?

3. It has been reversed into something at some point and the spare wheel has bent the rear door skin. Would this be an expensive repair?

Other than that she's great and we're really happy with her! I know, rip all the crap off, raise the suspension 2" and buy some sump guards and get off road! Perhaps not just yet, I'll wait until the wife has damaged the bodywork beyond 'Chelsea Tractor' level and then suggest an off-road life!:D

1) try ebay, if no good then a dealer it is.

2) This is either an air flow meter or turbo overboost fault, seen this a few times, feels like its changing up and down gears rapidly, check the wastegate actuator is free and all the pipes for it are ok, if they're all good, put an air flow meter on it, you'll probably find it'll only do it at high RPM (3500+) and full throttle.

3) depends how bad it is, get an estimate from a body shop.
