My wife has a 02 TD5 Manual Lanny.
This week it developed a number of symptoms relating to maybe one or or faults. The symptoms are:
After starting the engine (starts on the button, no problem there) and driving for around 20 minutes the car looses all power and struggles to keep up in traffic.
It also starts to judder.
As the car was due an Oil change I took the opportunity to change the oil, oil filters (filter & rotor) air filter.
I also changed the MAF Sensor as I suspected that was the problem, as the air filter was badly fitted by its previous owner. It had a small gap and that had allowed some small particles in to the MAP Sensor and get caught on the mesh.
Now the car runs much better, although at around when warmed up (after 20 minutes), at 50 - 60 MPH it starts to judder and looses power. Taking your foot off the accelerator seems to have an effect, but mainly just slowing it down...... Its like you've left the hand brake on, but only 50 - 60mph (not tried it any faster). The brakes aren't binding either.
If you start the engine from cold, then after a minute or two accelerate to 50 - 60 all is well, no problem
So I am guessing maybe something to do with engine temparature & fuel supply ?
Any ideas ? Another sensor....which one ?
What else could it be?
