Hi all, my intercooler is leaking (oil stuff coming out of the corner) so as I need to replace it, is it worth going for an 'uprated' one ?
(I intend getting a stage 1 re-map at Billing off road show in July after speaking to the Alive Tuning chap at the Malvern county show ground a couple of weekends back) otherwise I'll go for a std Nissens item unless anyone has any other recommendations.
MY2001, auto, 10P eng. no cat & the EGR has been blanked otherwise it's bog std.
Many thanks in advance.

My D2 is the same as Andys! However older by 2 years (99) 10P, no Cat, Ace removed and EGR blanked! But I was was told by LR mechanic that mine is non map-able! He did check (So he told me!) On engine number and ecu? But was told to fiddle with the wiring on the Turbo!! (Which I have not done), but if possible would like to get some more ponies from her!!??

That "LR mechanic" is full of boll0x then, all the Td5 ECUs are remap-able just that for the 10Ps the ECU must be opened and soldered a socket instead of the cip and install a remapped cip while the 15Ps can be done via the OBD port(flashable)... the correct statement would be that the MSB ECUs(originally used on 10Ps) are not "flashable" while they can be remapped with cip... you can figure it out from this

Exactly, my original 10p ECU was chipped, it had a piggybacked thingy on the chip.
