Hi Does anyone know if you can use a Black top injector in place of a green top.???

Bugger. I've had two chuck it in the last month and was given a black top free. Is it common for them to go.??

The black tops will physically fit but the black top injectors dont have the piston travel to accomodate the extra cam lobe profile on a 15p engine needed to generate the higher injector pressure for the green tops.
10p engine injectors run at about 1500-1800 bar but the later 15p engine injectors run 3000-3300 bar depending on destination country at first manufacture.
No use to you but for info you can use the later injectors in an earlier 10p engine with no probs though. However don't try to fit a 15p cam to a 10p engine. It wont fit as the cam bearings are different.
