Help! Both my key fobs operate the locks and unlock the doors. The immobiliser lights operate correctly when locking the doors. The problem is that the immobiliser lights just flash continuously when I unlock the car and I can't start the car. I need my car for work. I've tried phoning for assistance but all I'm getting is "Sorry we're too busy" and it's pointless calling for recovery because all I'll get is "It doesn't work, where shall we recover you to?" It must be that time of year. What next?

it has been known for a td5 immobiliser have problems with interference and towing the car down the road can solve the problem but you realy need to get it pluged in fill in wher you are in your profile and some one local can plug you in for beer money if your lucky

I managedto get hold of an auto electrician who turned up this morning. He plugged his laptop in and guess what - not enough volts. This is after I have made sure the battery is charged. Cell covers off and heavy discharge meter applied and it was found that a cell had packed up - loads of bubbles. I had also tried using my portable power pack but apparently they are simply not big enough for the Disco. The car jump started no problem from a spare battery. There has been no indication that there was going to be any problem with the battery. I have now got a shiny new, premium grade, Bosch on board. The old battery only appears to have been on for three years, also a Bosch but a cheapo version. Fingers crossed. Thanks for any replies received.:D

Hi, looks like there are quite a few of us with this problem. I have 2 key fobs of which I can not lock the car with (lucky it was open for us so at least we can get in her) nor will either of the ignition keys start her. Like others I thought this to be the immobiliser as they lights on the dash come on and fade away and the alarm light flashes yet nothing!!! had the battery off thinking it would reset itself, yet nothing.
Could you point me in the right direction please as I am not mechanically minded and need to get her back on the road as soon as possible as I have my holiday coming up with the caravan IKKE

Unfortunately the D2's BCU doesn't reset itself as nice as the D1, but I was lucky once also with the immobiliser........the idea is to disconect only the (-) of the battery for some minutes then try to lock&unlock with open hood........although it's quite unlikely:mad:

I have a w reg td5 I am having problems as the doors are dead locked I can get in back door put the key and turn the ignition but immobiliser does not work I managed to disconnect the battery and reconnect then it started any advice please thanks
