Hi new to site and would like to say thanks to all the helpful posts i've already read.

I have a 2000my Defender 90 got 187k miles on the clock. Took wife shopping earlier in week on way home on dual carriage way suddenly felt like throttle cable had snapped, funny I thought it hasn't got a throttle cable.

Pulled up on hard shoulder engine idles sweet as a nut but won't rev. As soon as you press on accelerator engine tries to pick up but then falters back to idle with lots of smoke.

Got recovered to local garage then went and towed it home following day.

Plugged in Hawkeye all engines sensors throttle etc returning readings I would have expected. So Decided it was either not getting enough air (plenty of fuel cos of black smoke) or couldn't get rid of it.
Checked air filter clean as a whistle, removed hose to inlet of turbo, clear. Turbo spins with a flick of the finger no excessive play in shaft. started engine no change, turbo can be seen spinning.
Removed exit hose from turbo to intercooler found the hose had collapsed inside effectively blocking pipe almost completely. Started engine it will now rev, albeit sluggishly, but climbs all the way eventually, (obvoiusly no boost from turbo to help it) and turbo really winds up quickly, as i would expect.

The following pics hopefully show the location and problem to anyone else that has or may have a similar problem.
Thanks again to everyone who has posted and helped me.
