Hello everybody.
I have a 2000 td5 that i have owned for 2 years now. Two weeks ago whilst towing the caravan the vehicle lost power whilst climbing a hill. I pulled over, had a quick look but found nothing obvious. The vehicle then drove ok. the next day it did the same without the caravan on the back. The fuel filter light was on so i decided to change the filter. After driving to fetch a filter when i went to remove the filter i found the filter to be hot to a degree where you could not hold it for any length of time. I put the new filter on and started the engine, the new filter instantly got hot i would say this is not normal, is the fuel cooler at fault? When you drive the car now it is fine on part throttle but if you use full throttle it feels like fuel starvation. any ideas anyone?
