If your the type that considers notifying your insurance about modifications, the plate is pretty much hidden. The full removal is a bit more obvious. Especially if you use a blue silicone hose.
I just used the plate and got a significant improvement. Not as much as cleaning the MAP sensor (TD5). That transformed the car for free!

Hi Dave ,
Its the sensor on the Air intake manifold on a Td5. It is just 2 x 8 mm bolts. I took mine off and cleaned it up and it was pretty mingin when removed. Engine now running better than ever. 5 min job.

Hi Andy, I can't remember, is this sensor to which you refer the one between the air filter box and the turbo. If it is, what did you clean it with?
Cheers
Dave
Hi Dave
I used electrical contact cleaner on mine. It did a real good job of dissolving the oil. I also sprayed the MAF sensor for good measure.
Cheers
Andy
Thanks for that Andy. I think us poor Tdi 300 boys only have a MAF, so I'll try the contact cleaner approach. If I can't get that here in France, I assume pure alcohol, from the chemist will work??
