TD5 EGR delete with cooler

Morning folks,

I bought a blanking kit for my 2002 Disco TD5 but I didn't anticipate it having a cooler. I have seen people blanking off either side of the cooler as well as at the manifold. Is this necessary? I just want to make sure before I crack on with it.

Remove the whole lot. Blank it at the manifold.

Thanks. Should I then connect the coolant pipes via an adapter?
