after only 18 hours of proud ownership the b----y thing would not start. it would not turnover battery was good the immobilliser seemed favourie but after much head scratching it was infact something to do with auto box thinking it was in gear. after vigourus movement of gear stick all is well:confused:. the selector for transfer box seems VERY stiff and requires a great deal of effort to move it also in that area i can not select the diff lock or maybe it doesnt have one:doh: thankfully the disco came with a 3 month warranty and i am sure these probs will be rectified i will be grate full for your thoughts .

Probablt all watching the Grand Prix. We've been loading a couple of Series engines for an ebay buyer, got to take some pic's for another later on.

The XYZ switch or whatever it's labelled is a source of problems, do a search, you'll find more about it.

Ours is emmanuel so not something I've got direct knowledge of.

thanks for the replies the wife's been out in it today and found the windscreen washers dont work and the drivers window is now stuck open. i have spoken to the dealer and he will pick it up tomorrow and rectify all the faults. interesting about the diff lock cheers folks

Got a 52 plate myself, manual. There's no diff-lock, Traction Control does it automatically.
I'd say fit a manual box, but with your traffic conditions in N Lancs you'll need an auto.
Check the micro-swtches on the auto-box

You CAN fit a CDL to a 2002 Disco if you get the parts to go into the tranny box.... (Ashcroft transmissions do all the bits you will need)
The TC does NOT lock the CDL, the TC only works through the ABS.

lock it and unlock it in the drivers door, mine did it, and the key fob stopped working for a day, left it alone for a couple of days and it works now, muzznt gerumble....
