Hello all i am considering de-catting my TD5 Auto as i mainly cover 200 miles around town each week and i'm lucky to get into 3rd gear never mind 4th. I emailed Steve Parker's to see if they sell the de-cat pipe and the reply i got was Quote:
Hi

by replace your cat it will effect the emissions and will not change or increase your performance.

Could anybody please let me know what the positive and negative points are and where i could get a de-cat exhaust pipe from as Steve Parkers have not answerd the question i asked them. I have done a search on here but i can only find information on TDi's and i think they are manuals.
Much apreciated....Tony
:amen:

Thanks for your replies managed to get a decat pipe of ebay.
Got a stainless steel one for just over £65 inc delivery at least i will still have the pipe when the car gets rotten and falls to bits, just got to fit it now and see what difference it makes if any, might get a stainless through pipe and do away with the middle box as well. Thanks again...Tony

Nice one, glad your sorted.
Cat went on my A4 (Audi driver = cock) :D a month after I bought it (privately) so my Dad who's and old school mechanic cut round the seam of the cat removed the honecomb and welded it back up.

I had the car for 4 years and never had one bit of trouble with it, and it never had any issues with the MOT either.
