I questioned a bit back if sending currents through the speedo gauge with reversed polarity was dodgy? This might be part of the reason it ain't working, ideally another speedo to try might be the answer but that's not a cheap option

Think it's the sender,
Can anyone with amr1425 300tdi temp sender confirm what ohms it should read?
The one I've Baught is reading 800 ohms odd when think it should only be about 130/140 ohms when cold.

Can anyone confirm this please?

Hahaaaa you lot are Gana hate me for this ;) !!!!!!
Arghhhh!!!!!!!
I asked for a 300tdi temp sender not the specific part number AMR1425,
Just checked through the invoice, I've got AMR3321 instead!!!!!!!
Both are for 300tdi so don't see what's different.
I'll get the correct amr1425 tomorrow and blooodyyy fingers crossed and touch wood it will sort my problem out!!

Amr1425 is the disco one with green top, where as 3321 that I've got is for defender with black top. Must be a difference between them.

Hahaaaa yesssss boyyss!!!
Clocked off work early, got new temp sender, got slagged in the stores by the experts saying it will be wrong, now then...
A fully working td5 dash fitted and done :) happy bloody days,
Time for an early pre- chinese takeaway cider and put me feet up for a while.
Cheers for help all!!! Helped me not throw a spanner through any glass :p

800omhs odd for the defender black top,
And can't remeber the disco green top one, Id go outside and check but it's cold and miserable oot ;)

Still running abit cold on the gauge but dont think anyway of changing this hahaa, if it goes above half I know it's getting warm lol.

you could get a variable resistor, stick it inline, get the engine hot adjust it to read normal. it might only be right for 'normal' though.. not highly accurate for too cold or hot.

Scrap what I said, just took it for a proper good run and gauge is sat like my orginal one, must of just been me being paranoid.
