Yeh I was planning on doing it just waiting for a switch to arrive, but the fact it won't go out even when there's nothing earthing it out needs solving! Lol

not seen the pin outs but is the brake fluid wiring the same pin as the handbrake?

if not, maybe the fluid is shorted since they use the same lamp

Yes there the same so it rules out that lol, will have to tripple check my wiring but 99% sure it's all correct and it shouldn't be illuminating lol.

Can't get the fookin temp gayge to work either, thort was the sender so new sender and still the same. Followed wiring axactly and just sits at bottom of the gayge.
Getting annoyed now!

The brake warning lamp is linked to the handbrake and the brake fluid level have you get the black and white wires correct
If you disconnect the fluid level wires what happens?
The td5 display is led lit

Here's my display dismantled being fitted into another Tdci cluster ( a mod I do for people )
As you can see you won't be able to remove a bulb

There's nothing connected to the back of the handbreak pin I keep repeating myself hahaaa so pulling wires on the brake level cap would do nothing, not that they worked before either lol
In theory it shouldn't be lit up. And my temp gauge should be working!
If I change the terminals on the temp gauge it shoots up and stays top of the gauge. If I leave it on terminal 1 wich is the correct terminal on the gauge it sits at the bottom of the gauge lol.
It's driving me nutssss

Your actually ahead of me so cant really comment further as I've not sorted the connections/wiring out yet. I think 'Cowaski' has done the mod already so may be worth a quick PM to him as I think he had temp gauge issues too.

6 on the main 20 pin plug is not connected as it's not needed,
And yes 16 on the main 20 pin is the switched live for the pannel.
Everything works as it should apart from the basterd hand break light is lit up with nothing connected to it! Lol,

Sorry, biffed up on what I was typing, switched lives should be on pin 16 of the 20 pin connector and also pin 1 of the 16 pin connector with the earth for the panel on pin 8 of the 16 pin connector.

As there are some electronics in the display you may get some false indications (such as Park brake) if you don't have all the supplies connected. I don't think you mentioned pin 1 before?

On the 16 pin plug did you make a short jumper lead that plugs between pin 9 and pin 13

Pin 14 provides the input for both handbrake and fluid low level
You prob made a link wire between pins 6 and 10 to switch off the abs lamp which is fed through pin 7
I'd double check every wire is in the correct port on the plugs but seems if all other lamps seem ok it can't be much else
Are there any pins damaged on the warning lamp unit or any connections with new pins amiss
Maybe post pics of the plugs for use to see wire locations etc

So the temp sender wire feeds in and goes to pin 5 on speedo then out on pin 9 at speedo and to the temp gauge
Reversing current ie pin 1 and 2 shows gauge responds by moving to max
Don't know if that is safe as it is passing through the speedo and might damage it, take care and use a meter instead

Presume you fitted the green temp sender for the job

Yes that's how it's wired and yes fitted the new temp sender

All pins and wiring is in the correct place.
I'll post some pics up see if anyone can see what's at fault hahaa

Handbreak light is fixed!!!!!!! Just pushed the connector in real hard and it went out lol.

I'm still struggling on the temp gauge tho :( arghh!!
Have checked wiring and is spot on, any way I can check the gauge or anything???
I put a ground/ swapped wires to the gauge and it shot to the top. What's this telling Me?
And why is the gauge not getting any signal normaly??
Thanks

I've run a wire straight from the correct 300 sender to the loom where it enters on pin 8, goes to pin 5 on the lower speedo plug, then plug 9 back to terminal 1 on the temp gauge.

I've tryed terminal 2 on the gauge like it says in the guide but this is wrong, terminal 1 is the correct one as can be seen by the blue/ green factory wire wich is the orginal temp sender wire input.

Pin amiss hooray
I'll scratch me head then me arse and see if I can sus the gauge for ya

Thanks matey,
As I say, it wired axact to the diagram. turn ignition on and it raises to the bottom of the gauge, and stays there till turn ignition back off.
