Prices differ, but Gary at Alive Tuning (Td5 Alive Ltd) charges £395 + vat for the remap. He has a few dealers around the UK working with him such as Durham 4x4 among others, so custom remaps and modification can be done on site without a trip to Alive's base in Grimsby.

Mike at Dynachip offers a mobile tuning service and comes to your home or work to do the remap. He charges £225 - £250.

Tis done To cut a long story short had to have a new ecu fitted and coded as mine was wrecked by oil ingress ( new harness fitted six months ago, but residual oil had already done the damage!!) So I now have a later type ecu ( bonus)
Does the remap work?.......bloody right it does! went for a test drive afterwards, smoother drive, more responsive and now you can really feel the turbo kick in. Going for a longer drive on sunday.....can't wait

It would be great to have a real comparison,, instead of , yeah mine too !! can a decent auto tuner list a average benefit .. ie
110 , 27 to 32
2000 28 to 32
Disco td5 28 to 33
etc

the mpg is the last thing most people would expect from a remap imo, and the power and torque gain are listed on all the sites I saw... if you want consumption reduction go for lpg injection not for remap Propane injection - www.portalrover.co.uk

I didn't notice any decrease in fuel consumption after my TD5 was remapped, but there was no increase either.

I think the fact that you have more poke and an all round nicer vehicle to drive, WITHOUT an increase in fuel consumption is fantastic anyway.

In my opinion, ( any many others ), the stage 1 remap is the single best mod you can do to a TD5 !.

+1, i never have really tried to work out the fuel consumption as i don't do the same journey everyday in it, sometimes it doesn't move for a month, but with the remap it is a different car! literally not sluggish, drives enjoyably has the grunt to go, so i would think the mpg has gone up as it is not dying of death as it has go in it! Dynachip £225.00 best mod!
