Hi all
I have a T reg TD5 e/s with ACE , the ace light and warning and sound comes on when I start off, there is a leak at the rear of the vehicle and the ace fluid is getting low, in the dual tank under the bonnet, question
can I drive without it
Does it mean the seals in the unit whatever it is called are perished
is it expensive to replace
please help if possible
thank you clive

you have two choices, fix it or replace it with conventional arb's ... if you will drive it without fluid, the pump will fail and it might size too causing more trouble and the car will be "floppy" too without pressure in the actuators, if an actuator is leaking not the pipes it's cheaper to fix(around £50), pipes £200, the conversion is around £300 if you DIY

To take the whole thing off and replace it with non ACE parts we charge about £460 ish, we have one in this week to do, that includes parts and fitting, we usually remove it one day and refit the next it's just easier. We don't/won't use Britpart stuff, but I think you can do it slightly cheaper if you do. Just to give you an idea what it would be to pay someone to do it. I've heard of garages charging much more and I think it must be because they don't want to do it

I have a leak on mine at the block under driver’s seat; it’s cheaper at the moment to keep filling the system up.The children love the rainbow on the drive when it rains

I plan to look at it when we have worm weather

I had a chat to a buddy of mine who said taking it out is the best option if you plan to keep the disco for a few years.
