Got the new diesel pump fitted today, along with the injector loom. As expected there was a little oil In the loom plug.
Not had the ecu off yet, but willthe oil have got to it, although the Disco is running like a Swiss watch. Is it prudent to replace this loom also, I am well into £3k now so another few quid will not matter.
Does this loom from the rocker box to the ecu have a specific name, if so I can't find it.
Any help will be most appreciated.

ps, the new pump is vertually silent, unlike the old one that squeaked like some mad squeaking thing.
There was tissue all around the pump seal and the pump was not seated correctly, it makes me wonder if this is what made the old pump so noisy.

Genuine is cheaper than aftermarket BritPart item :)

Honestly , I would not bother changing it, just check the red plug every other week ,if oily then clean it, if after a month nothing is showing then check it at a greater duration. Wait for the injector loom to fail again in a few years time.

You can open the ECU if you want for peace of mind, just be careful with it and use a proper circuit cleaner if it needs cleaning. Have seen one with oil in it, others had none.

Cheers

I wish it was just a few quid, that wiring between the cover and ECU is part of the complex main engine harness not some cheap loom depending on the vehicle's MY it can have specific part number, just an example to make an ideea: https://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/95224/2502/engine_harness_td5_disco_2a736040__

as @neilly said keep cleaning the red plug from time to time untill all the residual oil leaves the harness then if your injector loom was genuine LR it can last for some years, if it was aftermarket it's lottery and might leak again in less than 6 months...or not
