Hi all (and tigapiglet as I guess he's having inside info.?;) )

I read someplace that BMW, at engine shut down, used to give an extra electrical powershot towards the MAF if during the drivingcycle which just stopped the engine had done 3.000 rpms or more, this to give an extra heating up of the MAF in order to burn all possible residus on it, in other words to give it a cleaning by the extra heating of it. As the Td4 is the BMW M47 engine I'd like to find out whether LandRover took over this particularity as well or if they just left it out in their programming??
In view of the rather significant number of MAF problems with the Freelander I doubt it was included in the LR package though. Anyone able to give details/confirmation on this procedure please ?
Thanks in advance.

hi as far as i know the td4 maf sensor does not get any extra heating at switch, from what i have read it only adjusts while running to reading around 200 degrees C,im just about to list a brand new maf sensor for sale as im sure somebody will want 1,cheers tiga
