hi all.

last year i sold my old td4 - it was a 2001 s model and bought a vectra diesel.

anyway have now sold the vectra and bought another freelander.

this time its a 2004 td4 es. a much nicer car, however the clutch feels very heavy, not too bad once on the move but have to push the clutch nearly to the floor before you can engage first or reverse.

theres no slip even when towing my caravan that weights 1400 kg.

i was considering replacing the clutch and the hydralics.
i hassnt got any worse in the 2000 miles since i have owned the car.

any ideas, am i right that the hydralic clutch is self adjusting?

has anyone replaced a clutch themselves

cheers all

Our 2004 td4 also had a heavy clutch when we bought it, i thought that was just how they are until i drove the loaner when ours was being serviced. Mentioned it to the garage and they changed the clutch slave cylinder, much lighter and easier to use afterward.
