The orange hdc light has come on my freelander, typical as I need the car for towing at the weekend!

Any ideas?

Ive had a look and seems to be aiming towards brake light switch but my brake lights still work

Read the diagnostics codes. HDC warning light by itself won't affect you towing. If you lost ABS you might worry more, or even TC - but I can't see how losing HDC will affect towing.

Pending on the last time the Brake Light Switch was changed and what type. I would check first with brake lights then second the switch. What year is your freelander as there a modification you can use which is a little pricier otherwise goes for the Genuine than an aftermarket type. I bought mine from Rimmer Bros and took about half an hour to fit being a proper left-hander ;) After that your missus will be happy of your new talent:rolleyes::p:D

It's a 53 plate. Don't think it's ever been changed, I know it won't affect towing I just don't like having lights up on the dash.
You have to press quite far on the pedal for the lights to come on so hopefully it is just the switch, I'll get it plugged in today see what the code is

Had it plugged in and was suggested to change the brake light switch.
Land Rover said I need the modified one now, is this true?
I thought it was the early freelanders which needed those.
