After fitting the engine, new ird cooler, g/box etc. the engine fires up and sounds absolutely sweet. but....
The gear lever is too far over to the right, to the point to get it into 5th or reverse, the lever is in the seat..
another problem... because of this issue....
I go to engage 1st gear, but crunch crunch....... the gear lever will not go over to the left enough to engage.
it will ONLY just go over to get it into second....
I'm assuming the idiots who took the engine out screwed up the linkage rods.
I took off the entire gear linkage, and straightened the ball ended levers (NOT the rods) as they were bent.
I now have problems trying to the rods on... the rod with the sharpest angle is contacting the gearbox at all times - hence to side to side movement...
has anyone got one of the rods off, and can they measure the angle of the bend.
also....
Money being tight due to new engine, clutch etc......
can anyone point me in the direction of new "upper rod and ball joints" as described in RAVE.
