My freelander has had quite a large fuel leak that resulted in the car breaking down. It does not start and the RAC chap could only get an unknown 1110 code. He says that there is low pressure going to the injectors. From reading other post it's seems that it could be related to the High Pressure fuel pump. Is there a way of checking the pump for leaks etc... If I do have to remove the pump does anyone else have a guide as I can't download the one that I have seen on here.

I would first have a look a the regulator on the pump, the O-rings can split and leak, remove the starter motor, some remove the manifold also to gain better access, once you get access unclip the electric connector and then two 30mm torx bolts and the regulator will be removed from the HPFP, change the O-rings link below cost £5.22 hopefully this will solve the problem, if not then you may have to remove the HPFP, a set of O-rings can be purchased to repair the pump which must be done in a clean place on a tray maybe.

A special tool is required to remove the high pressure fuel pump from the car, we can go through that once you have checked the regulator first.
