Help needed please
Ever since i bought the TD4 it has had its fixings for the front of the engine cover missing, Other back 2 are ok

I ordered replacement bits from LR but all i got was the rubber ring that fits in the cover hole and a 10mm head size bolt but it has nowhere to screw into, Behind it on the air intake (i think) is just a hole

What sould be there is it a fitted nut or is it just a nut and bolt

Thanks

I dont know what it is called but it is like a flat clip that pushes over the hole to reduce the holes diameter.Mine is missing too so would love to know where you can get them.

They are cheap and easy to get I think, they used to be installed on the fenders etc. in the past. It's used to fix two things (plates) together which are too thin to get thread made in, so just a hole is drilled in both plates and over the lower plate you slide such a kind of clip which has a kind of thread in it so you can screw in a screw from above the one plate into the clip on the lower plate and this way both are fixed together.
As I remove regularly my enginecover I fixed my clip with a tiny wire.
Went to the garage and checked out my old toolbox and found an example of the clip, this exists in all sizes of course but that's the principle.

Its a spire clip, I have some of these from my bodyshop days but they are used with cheese bolts a self tapper style bolt, You can get them with the correct thread for the bolt though
