Evenin all - just wondering what other sort of fuel consumption folks were getting from their TD4's - mines an 06 Auto and I normally return about 380 miles from a full 60 litre tank - i refitted Roverrons box and changed the setting to #5 and am amazed at the difference - I am on 430 miles from a tank and the low fuel light has just started to flicker on - this includes a potter across the Elan Valley, town driving and a couple of hundred motorway miles - even popped it into 'Sports Mode' a couple of times.

I wouldn't say I have been deliberately cautious but the setting lends itself to being light-footed, any urge to press down on the right hand pedal is soon followed by an easing off as the power kicks in.

Not saying that the FL is by any means a quick car but the box certainly helps - got me thinking how much more quicker / economical it would be in 2WD hmmmmmm

Hi outlander,

I do some 31 to 33 mpg with my MY01 Td4 auto. (but mainly driving local trips).

Some advice from a non-technical person though, try not to drive it until the tanklow light lits up, it's better to fill it up when still 1/3rd or 1/4th fuel in the tank, this to avoid you suck possible dirt into the lines, it also helps your fuelpump by the downforce of the fuelweight.

I get 35-40 MPG td4 auto not light footed the 40mpg is motoway driving with the cruse on a bout 70mph also got a go faster gismo fitted ,it twas after that the mpg improved. . .:)

Does the 'box' really make that much difference? I have had my TD4 auto from end June and have never got better than 32 mpg with an average of 31 mpg. The green trip mpg figures below were all mainly motorway (2nd row is wrong!) All the following fill ups have been to the fuel cut off point which I think is a reasonably accurate way to measure consumption.

My 2003 TD4 manual comfortably does 500 miles from every tank. That's about 39mpg on average by my reckoning. Mostly to and from work with a mix of dual carriageways and urban roads. Does help that I work shifts and rarely travel in the rush hour.

Cheers
