HI ALL td4 just clicking when i turn key ive fitted new starter motor today battery fine still got same symptoms any 1 got the no how thnx guys

Put yer meter across the battery and get someone to turn the key........what does the voltage drop down to? It's not just the voltage you need the amps as well.

ok thnx m8 but i got no hlprs here m8 ill try to get some tommorow bit late in day now stuck for luck

If you own a pair of jump leads connect one to the starter motor body, or one of it's mounts or, failing that to a good lump of metal on the engine. Connect the other end to the negative of the battery. Then, if the car starts you've proved that you've got a bad earth connection from engine to body. If it still doesn't start then you've either got a bad battery or a bad connection from the battery through to the starter.

Good battery 12.5V + off load, put side lights on and measure it, shouldnt pull it down, if ok try headlights on too, shouldnt drop by much. Symptoms are battery not holding a charge and as already stated possible bad engine earth or connections, check all terminals on the battery and starter / solenoid may even be leads breaking down.

why did you replace the starter in the first place?

11.4v is far too low. Put the ignition on, main beam headlights and heater blower on full and check the voltage again, I will bet it drops away under 10v. Putting a voltmeter on a battery is pretty much useless as a way of testing it. You need to know the current it is capable of putting out. Even a nearly flat battery will still read 11 - 12v, but as soon as you try to draw a couple of amps through a lightbulb it falls away to nothing.

Charge the battery or jump start it with decent quality jump leads and see what happens.
