Td4 back box

Hi all

I'm due to buy a new back box for my 2002 td4. Any recommendations on where to buy from.

Famous Four do one for £65 + vat and Brookwells do one for £50 + vat, Rimmers do a stainless steel one for just under £200, your choice. Plenty of other suppliers, just check the carriage charges.

i dont think there a massive differnce between the aftermarket jobbies, your td4 will be a two tail pipe version and all of the aftermarket ones i have seen are single pipe,which was the later spec by LR, just make sure they get the right one for the td4 as it is a larger bore than the other engines but the same shape (if that make sense) please let us know what make you go for?

thanks all, ill let you know which one i go for. probably be Famous Four or Brookwells as i dont fancy paying 200 quid for a stainless steal in case it decides to jump ship during a green laning adventure

As far as I'm aware LR used the single and twin tail piped back boxes on the TD4 depending what they had on the production line at the time. The original box on mine is the twin pipe version which, I believe, is for the V6 so either twin or single tail pipes should be OK.

While looking through microcat it seems some Td4's were fitted with the same twin tail pipe eggsource as the v6. The v6 can pass a lot more gas as it revs higher. I think we first heard about LR using v6 twin pipes on Td4's from a LR chap who built them.

as far as I know lr no longer do the twin pipes never buy of Mr.Exhaust as seen on fleabay they are not made to last
