Hi guys, new here so maybe posting in the wrong section. Also maybe asking an old question again but I have trawled and not found the specific answer I need.

I have a 55 plate freelander with the 6cd stereo. I'm looking to fit an lcd screen in its place but I've noticed that the original stereo has two connectors going into it. One looks pretty standard but I'm struggling to find an adaptor for a new stereo.
I thought I'd bought one but it turns out it is intended for the none 6cd version having only one connector.

Ive been all over amazon, eBay etc but could do with some guidance as to which adaptor I need.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Only one plug on my Visteon 6 disc HU. Presumably you have the optional HK amp under the passenger seat.
The main plug has an adaptor available, to convert to ISO plugs.
The HK plug will need some grafting onto the new HU, if that's what you are fitting?. I don't know what you mean be LCD screen, sorry.

Ahhhh OK that makes more sense. I've been going off photos rather than removing it to check.
I have no amp so it will be one plug then.

I mean a 7" lcd screen.

Cheers for your help :)

I've just been in to Halfrauds to eye up a new stereo in my 55plate. What have you gone for out of interest?

I've just been trailing eBay, searching for freelander double din lcd.

There's about 50 all ranging from 50-120. Mainly Asian made though so I'm a bit dubious yet. I just want all I need in place first so that it goes smoothly.

Thanks :)

That's why I'll probably let Halfrauds do the job, if it's cocked up or the wrong parts then I have their throats to choke :D

They've quoted £10.99 for a double fascia

£33.99 for the harness to retain steering wheel control.

£4.99 for the aerial converter.

£30 to fit it...

I'd avoid cheap Chinese units tbh. The quality is low and functionally often compromised as a result. I would suggest something from Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine or Sony. Although more expensive, they'll not be a source of future disappointment.

Oh I agree, I'm going for the best in budget but I'll save money where I can by fitting it.
