Hello all.

took my TD4 in to the local tyre place and he said that three out of the four tyres need replacing. He suggested that there might be issues with the diff if only three are changed and mentioned something about an imbalance?

Is there anything in this, please?

Also, he quoted £85 each for the tyres -.fair?

Tyres need to be the same rolling circumference on a Freelander. This is why it's important to have all the same type and check pressures regularly.
I'd do all 4 and keep the decent one as a spare
£85.. depends on the tyre but doesn't sound bad to me

Replace all 4, but the price you quoted depends on the size and make. I'm looking at £85ea for my larger FL2 size tyres (good budget tyres), so if the wheels are the standard 16" FL1 size, £85ea seems a bit expensive for budgets, but reasonable for premium tyres.

If the car is still 4WD then you will require matching tyres all round.

If its been converted to 2WD then there is no need to keep the fronts and backs exactly the same.

Some info...

Thanks for this. Just checked and they are 236 / 65 / 17?
