I'm sure they work very well, but why pay £40 for a tool that does a job that a couple of simple tools every serious home mechanic should have anyway?

I is got da necessary tools ... just wonderin' if it were worth a shot.

Think I'll give it a go wi' Treweys when I is doing the service. (I'll PM ya when I got the bits together:) )

If they are ****e then I wont bother:)

as I got me rockers of, coz i had 4 bent push rods,
i was going to put it all back on today/tomorra if its not raining.
but, I went through my old engineering tool box yesterday and found a selection of "clocks" (dial test indicators)..ironically so named DTI`s
I will use these/this to set rocker clearances (tappets) as my old disco doosals done nigh on 190.000, so clocking the movement will allow for "wear" = running clearances = hopefully..
Or am I being a fekking eediot trewey, and just find me feelers?

I use a dti on my 16 cyl cat engines, strangely u only wind them over twice, get to tdc then set half the tappets ( they are marked ) then wind over again to tdc then do the remaining , never seen it before, on the other engines we have to wind it a little bit ten times!
