I'm trying to do a few jobs on my Rangie and the Tech Manual suggests a number of LRT tools. Some i think i can do without, others i'm not so sure.
For example i can't get any of my normal ball joint removal tools to get the track rod joint out. so LRT-54-009 would be highly useful
At this rate, i shall need to replace the swivel hub carrier thing too. This looks a complete pain of a job.
Is it?
it also looks like i need a number of LRT tools for this too.

Does anybody know where i can get LRT tools from in the UK?

All you need to remove TREs is a two pound hammer. The rest will be available from Sykes Picavant.

i wish it was it all i needed.
Two pound hammer, angle grinders, blowtorches and a lot of swearing and it's still in there!

Track rod ends are one thing top and bottom swivels are a complete other ball game. Have looked at the special tool prices don't think you will be buying them somehow. LRT -54-009 is for removing TREs only you will certainly not touch swivels with that. Two pound hammer strike end of link only, i have never known one not come out after a few blows.

If it's a P38 then the upper & lower ball joints which are fitted into the yoke which is part of the front axle are parallel bodied and pressed in. A special tool is required to remove them and fit the replacements which cost around a tenner each..the ball joints that is. One of the ball joints is adjustable which allows centralisation of the hub which is essential.
Releasing the taper shank of the ball joint from the swivel can be done using either a fork type splitter, or as that wise old sage Wammers has said, by a good sharp blow (Not a tap) from a 2-3 lb hammer.
