Freelander 1 tap and wires next to the fuel filter

When I changed my fuel filter on my td4 there a set of other wires next to the fuel pump should they be connected to anything ? also there is a tap underneath as well is this to drain/clean the fuel pump? I am not trying to start duplicate threads i know i have asked this but this is not about the egr valve so i thought i should start its own thread thanks

If the wiring was terminated in a 2 pin timer plug, then that's for the FBH (Fuel burning heater) which was an option.

The drain tap is so you can drain the fuel sedimenter at regular intervals.
