tallest off road tyres without arch mods

I've recently bought a disco 1 to replace my RRC.

Can anyone tell me what they consider to be the tallest off road tyre size that I should fit if I want to avoid cutting the arches? I'll be putting 2" lift springs on.

Also tyre recommendations in a suitable size would be appreciated.

I have 265/75/16 insa tyres and they catch. The arches had been trimmed slightly but I still need to take more off as they still catch >_<

There is a sticky at the top of the discovery subforum page about tires for disco's, its like the 4th or 5th from top, you will find your info there

yeah thanks, had that pointed out. I was filtering for just disco 1 so it doesn't display those! it does now I know! ta

yu will find that the :search: function is quite useful.....

I have 265/70/16's BFG A/T's on mine, and they caught on the bumpers before any lift/modification, and also needed the steering stops moving - ended up easier to turn an aircraft carrier than the disco!

forgot to say that i'll be lifting it 2"
