swivel housing repair kit (no ball)

hi i have just got the repair kit for the swivel housing witch includes the bearings but no pins. do i need to change the pins aswell or are the old ones ok to reuse.

this is everything you get in the kit
1 x FTC3646 Gasket Swivel Ball
1 x FTC3648 Gasket Stub Axle
1 x 571752 Gasket Drive Flange
1 x FTC3401 Swivel Seal 9mm
1 x 571890 Swivel Seal 12mm
2 x 606666 Swivel Bearings
1 x STC3435S Swivel Grease
1x 571755 Swivel Seal Retainer


the two seals highlighted do you use the both or just one if so what one

hi mate

i chose to use my original swivel pins because they seemed to be a better quality machine finish than the new ones supplied. seeing as they were not worn at all i thought i was better to stick with original.

also, when a kit is supplied with both seals, you simply take your old seal out and see what youve got. if i remember correctly, its the depth of the seal. its either the depth or the breadth of the seal rim that is measured.

either way clean your original up and choose the 9 or 12 accordingly.

if you have double bearing type why would you want to change pins ,there not wearing parts why do they supply 2 seals ftc3401 is only one fitted apart from early rr ,dont try and undo bottom pin you dont need to and bolts will be hard if not impossible ,fit bearing races with flat dolly covering whole of race punching them in will bugger them even if still look allright
