Sorry guys, quick question. Like I said I have a 2 inch lift on the Defender 90 Truck Cab. I don't like the height nor the rake on it. I want standard ride height with NO rake. I've done some research on Britpart HD Springs but the general consensus is that it raises around an inch :/ Would standard springs get me my desired set-up but also be good enough off road and not wallowing around too much? Also I have 285 MT on the Landy, any issues with this at standard ride height?

Like I said, want to make sure before I commit to buying, unless someone does an air suspension kit lol!

Nothing wrong with standard springs, LR seem to think that they do the job off-road and who are we to argue? That said, I have yet to experience a standard set-up that can't be improved for enthusiastic road use by a set of good gas shocks!

Of course your biggest problem will be the oversize tyres, they might rub on full articulation but I am sure that someone who has them fitted will be along soon to confirm it one way or the other.
The slightly smaller 265/75x16 was a factory fit for years so of course they fit ok without any modifications.

So you want standard height, but you seem to think standard springs aren't the answer???

Not sure exactly what you mean by rake. Do you mean the front or the back sits too high?

Unless you have a reason, then standard suspension is a very good place to start. Sure it doesn't excel in any area, but it works well for most things.

HD springs are exactly that --- HEAVY duty. This means they will be stiff and horrid and only good if you will be loading the vehicle and hauling stuff. For road use they will give a crap ride and off road they will make the suspension too stiff and it won't flex properly.

Also, there little you can do to improve on and off road at the same time. As they require different things. The standard setup is a good compromise here. But if you improve on road, it'll normally be at the detriment to off road ability and if you improve off road ability, it'll normally be at the detriment to on road driving.

Yea I guess I kind of answered my own question didn't I.. I'm sure I have had 285's on a standard ride height 90 before so can't see it being an issue

They should fit fine. Maybe slightly rub the wheel spats under full flex, but that'll depend on the rim offset, tread pattern and condition of the wheel spats.

33.11.50R15 Simex's on 15x10 rims, stock suspension.
