Hoping someone can help me I have done a quick search on here but cant find the answer.

When parked overnight my p38 drops to the stops and takes forever to raise the next morning, I have to leave the door open and let the compressor run for 10 mins before it will lift. I thought it may be a leak so I left it on its raised setting last night and it stayed up. I think the compressor may be on its way out and am looking for a new one or may try replacing the seals first.

Has this sort of thing happened to anyone else and is there anything else I should be checking?

Cheers

Every one else:eek: Leaky air bags, worn compressor seals:(:( etc

Hi Bobbler

My experience has shown that the air bags leak at some height setting more than others as the wear / perishing sits badly at some heights and not so badly at others.

You could try some gas leak detection spray to identify which air bags are leaking, but if it were me, for the sake of £250ish for the whole set I would do all of them. If you can find just the bags for the P38 (definitely available for the classic) this is about half this price and easier to fit basically you leave top and bottom in place from the original and just replace the rubber perished bits.

With regard to the compressor a refurb kit for £20ish is all that is needed.

Neither a massively difficult jobs and will give your suspension a new lease of life.

Best of luck
Andy

Cheers for the replies.

I left the RR for 2 days on its highest setting and it did not drop at all. Left it overnight on low and had wait forever to get it to rise.

Next stop new compressor seal and will get the air bags done asap.

the comp needs an overhaul as you suspect, if the bags were causing air depletion then it wouldnt have gone down, it would also rise quick if the comp was fine!!!

My p38 drops when left, it drops evenly so im wondering if its a leak in one bag wouldnt it drop lopsided? the pump also runs hot and takes a while to lift the suspension could someone put me right please.
cheers

No, the others will drop also as it has self levelling suspension.
