Don't know if this the right place to ask...here goes. My 2008 LR3 (Discovery) 4lt 6cyl HSE in Bahrain...three days ago front suspension dropped when car stopped. Message centre said Extended Mode, move away from obstruction & reset (or similar words. Suspension rose again when driven off. Local garage here reckons BOTH SUSPENSION BALLOONS leaking & "shaft between the two" also suspect. Total price each 'balloon' 400 Pounds + fitting. Can I expect BOTH to leak & am I being severely screwed with price? This vehicle is a nightmare. Any views on this?

That don't sound like leaking air bags to me, If you had the "extended mode"message up on the display the suspension ecu had computed that the car was grounded out and the suspension was extended more than the set height so the system had raised it's self to get of the obstacle and warned you of such on the display. The only way I can see that this could happen and the suspension go down at the same time is a faulty height sensor or wiring which is much more common than the air bags, in fact I have worked on these vehicles since they were first produced and I have only changed two bags in all that time but loads of sensors and a few looms. Get it on a live data interface and see what is happening.
