hi guys

apologies asking but wondering if i can pick ur brains plse

fault is the arrow will stay illuminated on the instrument panel, in access and off road height

in normal height the arrow doesn't appear , which i think is normal

when i put it into access or off road height , it will adjust to the height, compressor will run for a little while then compressor will turn off , with the usual hiss

but the arrow will not go away

is a new battery, new compressor, new reservoir tank and reservoir valve, new front valve

steering angle is zero

double checked tyre pressures , front 33 psi, rear 40 psi

done the height calibration and all of them are within 5mm , don't know what the + or -- tolerance allowances are

what do u think plse guys, what am i missing , apart from a brain that is:(

thks guys

Does the arrow go away if you exceed 30mph? ...if yes and no fault message on board then IMO that's how it should be

hi mate

many thks for the reply

if i'm honest i haven't checked , will indeed try that :D

how's u buddy , hope all is well

I'LL check mine later, but if there is a pic of the car next to the arrow I think it maybe normal as mine does it with the engine started,

hi

many thks, when i first start the engine , there are no arrows , as i leave it in normal height

soon as i select either access or off road the arrows will appear , compressor will start, then the body will either raise or lower according to what i've selected , arrow will remain

few minutes later the compressor will go off and then will hear the hiss of the exhaust valve opening

thks again and is most appreciated :D

out of curiosity just looked up the suspension heights , didn't realise it had 6 x different height settings, albeit i know u can't manually select extended or super extended

was wondering if i may how it compares to the D2s plse , convinced the D2s have better clearance , as on my D3 the exhaust doesn't sit up tight to the body

also i've noticed there's no guard for the gearbox, well if there is one

see there's a big metal one that covers the engine sump , looks bloody heavy

thks as always :D

Gbox guard is only plastic
My D3 sits roughly 1 inch higher one side than the other in access height or normal road height, drives straight tyres seem to be wearing even I aint touching it!
If compressor is running for a couple of minutes you have an issue there, either its to slow to build up air for one reason or another or somethings stopping the air going to where its meant to, ie valve block etc.

Pic of mine underneath you can see silence is no lower than fuel tank
You can also see the gbox shield/guard.

thks regarding the gearbox guard

just took the dogs out, noticed that when i was doing around 50 mph it felt like the drivers side rear wheel was dipping, if that makes sense, similar to a low tyre

however i checked them today and were fine

i have replaced

compressor
air tank
reservoir valve
front valve

have got a spare second hand rear valve block , along with a new O ring kit for it, wouldn't hurt to drop that on , as maybe the existing valve isn't allowing full pressure to hit the rear struts

however am i able to test to see what pressure is in each strut via the iid plse

know i've still got that front passenger side 24 x hour air leak , got to prove if it's the strut of pipe

timed the compressor , runs for 90 - 120 seconds before it shuts off ,, doesn't cycle on and off

no fault codes on iid or dashboard

ps, think once i can get back on my feet properly will check everything , got a combined pressure gauge / isolating valve so can isolate sections , go through it step by step , eliminating things as i tom

do u happen to know what the system psi pressure should be , or a link that u know of plse

many thks

I know very little about the system as mine has never (touch wood) gone wrong, now if it was on a truck I could bore you to death!

In fact this week I changed the g/box oil and reset all the parameters, checked for fault codes on all systems and apart from the usual seat back position sensor being duff there was nowt showing elsewhere.

OK,
I've checked and in raised mode the car symbol with an upwards pointing arrow remains on, it clears in normal height, and returns with the car symbol with a downward pointing arrow in lower height.
all of these appear in the dash panel next to the speedo

Uh Oh... Just wait until tomorrow

Nah i think its like most things use it or lose it, never had any epb issues, but thats because I put new shoes on it and try and remember to adjust it each year, same as the air susp I put it in access mode every time i park up makes my life easier and the compressor has to do some work.

that's great and most appreciated

done myself a quick drawing , so that i can then ensure all the pipes are fitted to the correct valve block locations

am going to trace each and every pipe, then pressure test the entire system , along with using my pressure gauge

also been reading where some alter the off road height, inc using extended adjustable height rods

got a new exhaust silencer to fit

once i'm able to, will be stripping out the front wheel arch liners, checking all the pipes, replacing the silicone turbo intercooler hoses

why are you fitting a new silencer, is it noisy in operation..
Mine is noisy but ive traced it to a broken bracket holding the pump to the chassis, my bracket is in 3 pieces, allowing the pump to vibrate against the chassis rail

also noticed the old bracket was broken, made a massive difference with a new bracket and compressor, can't hear it from inside

all the fixings on the old silencer are broke , also there is a large loom that goes to the back that has some of its sleeving rubbed away, this is secured to the compressor silencer

will have to remove the silencer to get to all of the loom sorted out and new sleeving fitted, may have to repair some fraid wires , so seeing the silencer is coming out , doesn't look to good i bought a new one

as i've taken so much time on the rest of the system i wish to ensure everything is perfect,

am my own worst enemy , like many of us, lol

does any one know where i can get the following plse

2 x 6mm push fit one end and a schrader valve the other , same size as a foot pump

been messing around here and there with the suspension, so have decided im just going to test the entire system , pipes, struts, valve blocks , making sure there not letting by , etc, etc , that way i can fault find everything correctly

going to start looking for a 6mm pushfit manifold, 6 x 6 mm plugs, so i can easily plug off pushfit fittings

will remove the compressor, install a manifold, pressure gauges ,

have seen some range rover shrieder kits but they are silly money, only need two of them

can then at the end of the day , write out a sequence to help others

thks as always
