I'd love to go swimming in Hertfordshire

The lastest LRO Magazine has the ten best Fords in the country, and the Hertfordshire one comes in at number two, so I'm off to buy a snorkel !

That one is massively underated in the chart-should be first.Its about 3/4 of a mile long.ALso it aint a lane, its a road(but more like a river!)

I found some nice lanes the other day on the sussex/surrey area between petworth and hindhead, I'm planning to do a night session in the next few weekends when my mates have fixed their suzuki's!!!

Any of you Surrey guys fancy getting very wet on the Sat 24th Jan?

Us Herts lot are doing the Fords at Furneaux Pelham & Standon, plus surrounding Lanes. You're more than welcome to come along.

Cheers for the offer syderman but Ill give it a miss, Thanks.Done violets lane twice in me motor and it gets a bit scary in the v8.That said am scouting out a few lanes with a fella local to me round my way.if there any good ill see about orgainsing a trip out witht the surrey n herts crew round em

Standon Ford is short but deep.
Furneaux Pelham is longest in Europe and can be deep.

It's no problem if anyone can't or doesn't want to go through them, there's a bypass around them or passenger rides available. The Lanes surrounding are still worth the trip.

24th jan mate, my birthday laning trip

Cant believe i ve missed all this action! Looks like you guys have been haivng some fun. I live in Cranleigh and am always up for a some trips. Last serious lane i did was the dunsfold one (smithbrook kilms area) and sometimes venture up and down the shere lanes and cold harbour. Be good to go further afield and see what else surrey has to offer. Will be keeping an eye for your next trip guys!

photos arent working. It says they have been removed or deleted?! Which end did you start from? I came in the way past the farm.

go to the last page, i re uploaded them. we started from the north, the end with the deep water drop bit

I got stuck right in the middle, there is just a huge clay pit a good few feet deep. Took 4.5hrs to get down!

We took that long to fail. Due to a slightly bent circlip i might add.

yeah we didnt reach the point where you are in the pic. but we will do when we do take 2

Think i d have to come watch take 2!! BY the end of my little adventure i swore i wouldnt go near that lane again. Actually thought i wasnt going to get out!! I had a friend in the village 'on-stand by' if things got really bad but i was so far down that he would have had to try get down to help!

Have you been over to the lane near alfold petrol station?
