Hi there

Am the Mummy to a wonderful '03 TD5 who is leaking. have had roof inspected and crain tubes clear but they found a crack in the near side top corner of the sunroof frame. Only way to sure is to replace whole sunroof.

Just wondered if this was a known feature of the Disco? Help very gratefully received :)

Thanks

you can now get the seal from main agent at about £10 not to bad to fit major job is getting headlining down

Hi there,

My sunroof leaks on my TD5. As an experiment I put black insulating tape around the sunroof where the frame meets the roof. I just wanted to see if thats where the issue was, before dropping the headlining to fix the plastic plugs where the drains leave the tray. This is another main problem area.

The insulating tape fixed the problem and cost me 80p. I'll likely get a small tube of black silicone sealant and run it round the frame for a permanent repair.

You could try this approach as well and just silicone the crack. If it's done neatly it would be a fine repair and save you a small fortune.

Cheers

Andy

Thank you very much. I thought of tape/silicone but not sure if it will compromise the drain tubes .... will try the duck tape I have for the kids on the roof and see how we go. It does depend which way the car is parked too, but thats obvious I guess.

Oh and I don't really tape the kids up just in case you were worried ....

Yeap it is duct tape sorry for being an ill informed woman!!!! I must go do the housework as pennance (is that spelt right?) :p

Its raining here again today but an emdeavouring to get the DUCT tape on and see what happens ..... if it works then great if not I shall be after you lol
