suffolk lanes

Depends which area of Suffolk you are from....
there are some over Bury/Mildenhall way in the west
and some around Shottisham/Rendlesham in the east.

I've ask before had a look on a map 2 but haven't had the time to check out the one's near me, I'm from mildenhall too.

You can not go by a map alone , think its been said here on LZ a few times before, the only real way is to ask the Rights of Way (RoW) officer from the local council....

If you dont you could get nicked, and also close the lanes for others, there are Tempory Restriction Orders (TRO's) and Seasonal Restrictions on lanes thay are not shown on a map.

you can find out info of your local area via the local Landrover club using their ROW officer of example SLROC - Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club, this may not be uptodate as things change.

Join your local club thats the best thing.

People dont give out information to just anyone as so many lanes are abused , then of course closed.

Did a few Suffolk lanes.
All seem very spread apart, but a few goods one's located.
I still have a few more to check out, but same old problem of time....

Looks fun Nick, when you thinking about doing them again?

would have hoped soonish, but not looking good for this week or the W/E.
If things change I'll ring / text to see if your free at the same time.

If not I might reserve a saturday morning for some me time :D:D:D
and then stick a post on here or Essex (lanes closer together) to see who wants to come and play. also thinking about a P&P day at suffolk once i have joined.

Deano - PM sent just now.

I am goin to Newbourne on the 23rd so will not be going to Bures this month, be good to do the ones around here you ahve done so far.

Just spoken to Geoff and we fancy doing the one we done the other sunday, but start from Stanstead end... to Hedingham.

Also taking about doing a wales trip as well in the next few months.

I will tag along on the 23rd. Will join on the day and see if I can sort out membership for my son so he can give it a go.

Just copied this from the SLROC site:
Membership:
Runs from January to December
Joining - one off administration fee £5
1st Jan - 30th Jun - £5 + £25 = £30

Driving days:
Events - Driving days at Newbourne £10 for first driver, additional drivers in same vehicle £5. All drivers and passengers must be signed on as such.

If my understanding is correct. You will need to be a member and you will be able to book your son in as an additional driver. I think...

Look forward to seeing you there!

As long as he holds a full UK driving licence he is welcome to join, however if he has, he will have to have additional member status rather than Junior member which costs a fiver.
Youngsters from age 13 may however drive at our TYRO trial events in a std Land Rover (Class 2 or Class 3) or from 15 in a Class 1 Land Rover.

Class 1 vehicles include those that are untaxed/trailered, have axle difflocks, shortened/modified chassis, space frame chassis, stuff like that.

HTH

He is 15 and I am just looking to start getting him some driving experience that does not involve an xbox.

If I still have the landy on the 23rd i will bring him along to check it out. Will be more interested in if the easy part can be done by a novice.

:)
