Hi all,

Would be grateful for your views please I have a 2005 L322 and if I put my foot down the engine basically stutters around 4000 revs and I have to lift off the peddle, the first time it happened was yesterday when I needed to overtake a tractor and I really came unstuck!
I don't drive the car hard at all and it's absolutely great otherwise,by the way it doesn't go into limp mode as I have read in a similar thread but unfortunately I haven't found the answer in the forum searches.

Thanks in advance

Chris.

Mine did the same just before the fuel pump went. Worth taking a look around the threads to see if that may be it.

yeah also just check to make sure you aint sucked a plastic bag or similar up your ait intake! Seen this happen the other week on a mates '04

According to the LandRover manuals, engine cut out starts at 4000rpm, with cut out limit at 4800rpm. Could be that you're overrevving the engine and causing cut out, which would feel like a stutter.

Age and mileage of the engine can cause loss of power, rev range, etc.

It ought never to get to much over 4000 revs unless you are really caning it, even then it will be near rev the limit, but diesels don't stutter at the rev limit to my knowledge so I would look at fuel starvation as a first step. Then check the MAF on diagnostics.
